Account Director (NYC) – Midweight
Full-time (part-time pro rata considered 3-4 days) | Start: March/April | Location: NYC
This award-winning global creative agency is looking for a high-impact Account Director to join its growing US team.
This is a hands-on, client-facing leadership role, based in NYC, acting as the day-to-day lead across key US accounts. The successful candidate will own senior client relationships, drive account growth, and ensure seamless end-to-end delivery across content, social and integrated campaigns — working closely with a UK-based creative team and global network partners
The Opportunity:
They are seeking an omnichannel Account Director who thrives at the intersection of creativity, commercial rigour and operational excellence.
You will:
- Lead day-to-day client relationships and act as the trusted strategic partner
- Own projects from initial brief and commercial scoping through to delivery, billing and post-campaign evaluation
- Confidently steer fast-moving workstreams across time zones
- Present and pitch content and social ideas to senior stakeholders
- Identify and unlock growth opportunities across accounts
- Ensure seamless collaboration between creative, strategy, account and project teams
This role will suit someone equally comfortable discussing strategic direction, managing complex delivery, and keeping a close eye on commercial performance.
Your Profile:
- Has delivered successful omnichannel campaigns across consumer and B2B audiences
- Can drive creative teams to execute dynamic, on-brief, on-budget content
- Has a proven track record of growing accounts and identifying incremental revenue opportunities
- Builds strong, trusted senior client relationships
- Is highly organised and comfortable structuring complex projects across remote and international teams
- Is financially savvy — confident in forecasting, scoping, managing retainers and ensuring profitability
- Has meticulous attention to detail
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high-performance creative environment
Desirable Experience:
- Developing and delivering social-first campaigns and always-on social programmes
- Leading social shoots and content production
- Translating performance data and platform metrics into actionable insight
- Experience across events, influencer marketing and paid social models
- A strong interest in emerging industry trends, from AI-powered workflows to evolving creative standards
The Shape of the Role:
- Reporting into senior leadership, with close collaboration across US and UK teams
- Acting as the linchpin between client and creative
- Managing budgets, scoping, billing and supplier invoicing
- Tracking resourcing and burn rates (including AI-enabled efficiency tools)
- Ensuring work is delivered on time, on budget and to the highest creative standard
