This role is a multi-disciplinary design and management role with a leading global Creative Agency.
Most of their work is across different formats and platforms requiring different design skillsets (from print to pixel needing graphic design, video, motion etc) but one thing is always the same; they put creative first and ensure it’s at the heart of everything they do.
The agency is a BAFTA and EMMY winning creative agency that make campaigns and content that people like and want to share. They’re in it for the fans and entertainment obsessives and work with Netflix, Red Bull and Sony to make it happen.
The Design Lead is the senior figure within the studio team, managing a team of 3-4, leading by example and creating a high standard of creative design and motion graphics.
Your experience and visual point of view will lead naturally into Art Directing projects, people and the agency towards a common visual goal.
Key Responsibilities
Design Lead
- Design creative-first campaigns and content that people organically engage with
- Curate design styles for campaigns and projects, across multiple channels and formats.
- Define stylings in easy-to-follow guidelines for other designers to follow and clients to buy into.
- Storyboard and create visual frameworks for animated, video and static content.
- Critique colleagues’ work and guide them toward a common visual goal.
- Manage and mentor the design and studio team
- Stay ahead on visual trends to inspire and educate the team around you.
Skills and Previous Experience
- 7+ years proven work experience as an Art Director, Graphic Designer, Motion Designer or similar
- Experience across a variety of disciplines including Art Direction, Illustration, Motion and Video
- Outstanding portfolio with a focus on social media and video content
- Experience across brand consumer and campaign defining work
- Expert knowledge of Adobe creative suite
- Experience line managing or mentoring team members
- Strong aesthetic skills with graphic design principles knowledge
- Ability to meet deadline and collaborate with a team and external clients
- Attention to visual details
- Ability to remain focused under pressure within a fast-paced environment
- Strong presentation skills across pitches and ongoing work
