We're looking for a Freelance Content Director to join an established creative team on a short-term contract, supporting a global tech B2B account. If you’re a senior content or editorial lead with a journalistic edge, creative instincts, and strategic depth, this role offers a fast-paced and rewarding opportunity to help shape smart, omnichannel work for an informed, social-savvy business audience.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
• Lead the creation of editorially driven content across multiple formats – thought leadership, articles, social, digital, and internal comms
• Shape messaging frameworks, creative narratives, content ecosystems, and campaign platforms
• Collaborate with copywriters, art directors, strategists, and project teams to ensure ideas are fully formed, well-executed, and client-ready
• Present and defend creative ideas to stakeholders confidently and clearly
• Lead and contribute hands-on to deliverables – from messaging houses to tone of voice guides
• Provide strong creative and editorial direction in a fast-paced, startup-like environment
• Film treatments may occasionally be part of the brief, but are not a core element of the role
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
• Has experience overseeing omnichannel campaigns for global brands – ideally in tech and B2B sectors
• Brings an impressive portfolio of content work that spans editorial, digital, and social, with results to match
• Is strategically minded and can concept, interrogate, and shape content with business outcomes in mind
• Is comfortable briefing across disciplines – from copy and design to strategy – to build cohesive campaign work
• Has a journalistic/editorial background and a passion for storytelling that cuts through
• Likes doing as much as directing – this is a hands-on role
• Is experienced in creating BTL content (e.g. thought leadership, internal pieces, articles)
• Has 5–7+ years in senior editorial or creative roles
• Is highly organised, self-sufficient, and thrives under pressure
Nice to Have:
• Familiarity with brand storytelling in the tech space
